FORgivING DEEPLY

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down , and shaken together , and running over , shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again " Luke 6:38

"And when ye stand praying , forgive , if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."Mark 11:25

While praying the Holy Spirit gave to me an understanding of forgiveness.  Many understandings are easy to comprehend but changeling to live out.  Practical living is where the gold and goal, is at in in being saved.  Salvation is something that is lived out in every day life, it is an action word.

I remember asking God to help me, and teach me have a response that reflects the way that He treats me, and not the way circumstances try to force me behave. I want to have a response to things, that when someone sees it, they say, (as you might when watching a child) "Her parents are doing a great job with her".  Because she did not do mean things back to children who did/do mean things to her.  So as I am on this journey, on purpose and with purpose, to respond in a way that reflects God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit,  I find myself learning how to FORgive.

THE MEANING OF FORgiveNESS

I am by no means an etymologist. I do not have a degree in the study of words, but the Holy Spirit knows all things.  As I searched the etymology of the word FORgiveNESS, He, Holy Spirit, gave me this understanding... The prefix for- expresses through the word an intensity of force.  The suffix -ness expresses action. To understand that 'give' already is an action word (verb), the passion of this word is now clear. It delivers ACTION!! upon ACTION!!!! calling out more ACTION!!!!!!!! So one thing about it FORgiveNESS take work! It is not a lazy mans principle. You can not think that you will FORgive anything or anyone without some type of ACTION on your behalf. The defination that the Holy Spirit gave to me is even deeper. Look at the heart of the word -give-.   This word of basic action goal is to "present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; to bestow:"  So then, through this was the following definition received.  FORgiveNESS, meaning, goal or aim is to display an intense force of action to obtain, relay or relinquish the right to be vindicated from the harmful/hurtful actions of another. So I am asking God to not avenge me. Now, that is hardcore. My Lord, I thought I could forgive and still want God to get them back for me!  I  do not believe that when Jesus was dying and the blood was puring out of His body that He was asking God to do a half job a forgiving us for what we did to Him, He said "FORgive them Father,... " Luke 23:34.

THE SEED of FORgiveNESS. (Mark 11:25 & Luke 6:38)

There is something that we reap or harvest when we FORgive.  We gain the forgiveness of God, and we release others form bondage.  Wow, that means that God will display an intense force of action to obtain, rely or relinquish HIS right to be vindicated from the harmful/hurtful actions that we do towards HIM!! THANK YOU GOD, JESUS, AND HOLY SPIRIT! I know we need that absolving of our faults, inequities, and sin in our lives.  Do not let pride or personal selfishness take it away from you! Jesus paid a great price for us to be able to obtain this!  We can then, after having done this, earnestly pray for those who have hurt us, and their well being and salvation. Remember when we do not forgive we are not forgiven, (Mark 11:25) and because it is a seed, then with the same release that you release someone God will release you the same way, (For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38) So if we give a deep forgiveness/total forgiveness then we can receive one.

LIVING FORgiving

I make no claims that this understanding will be easy for you to live out, but I know that it is possible.  Jesus did not come to show us an impossible way of life, but a possible way of life with God.  He plainly stated that "Greater works shall you do!"(John 14:12) so this is a great work, that we must and can  do.  It is within your capability to accomplish it.

Living takes action, and so does FORgiving.  The action steps that we must do involve the following:

1). Understanding how FORgiveness works and that you are the biggest benefactor of your forgiving!
In prayer....
2). Acknowledge/Admit that you are hurt, hurting, and you have hurt others.
3). Sincerely plead to God and tell Him that you FORgive them. (Be honest let him know how tough it seemingly is to let this go, and how you want him to heal you and them.)

Then...
4). Repeat the process, until the hurt is removed and you know that all is well.

One thing about it, little children are one of the greatest example of people who forgive. They fight, get mad, cry, and play again, and love each other again all in the SAME HOUR. Check out your sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, they will teach you

Be Forever Blessed.
